Ludlow GC | Practice Facilities

Towards the back of the car park, lies a ball machine, some mats, a huge field with yardage markers. Somewhere to find that swing before a round;  a place for the Professional to re-groove those misguided tweaks. You know what it is, it’s the place that you hit that 400yds drive, when no-one was there!

Tokens available at the Pro Shop and the Bar.

Devised and constructed by late greenskeeper, Tommy Adams, the large putting area outside the clubhouse extends to 9 holes offering different breaks and gradients.

The proximity to the Clubhouse makes this a popular venue, to hone your putting on the finer arts of fescue grass in those last few minutes of a competition.

Tommy (aged 14) was employed by the club in 1937, using a gang mower and ponies to mow the course. In 1960 he became the head greenkeeper. Because of all he did for the club, we are proud of the putting green that bears his name.

Ludlow is lucky to have this wonderful facility, bunkered with close mown area extending to 50yds and a competition ready green to work on. The chipping and pitching area is the place where the ‘real want to get better’ people go. Crunching those numbers on the card, looking for a few more shot improvement. You know you want to.

Utilising the field parallel to the sixth hole. We have an area approx 15 acres of short mown grass with various pins at various distance. Find yourself and your swing with a tube full of balls, an iron in your hand and  a summer’s evening.
