A true test of golf - all year round
Russell Simm, Seniors Captain for 2012 drove off in fine style at the Captains Drive-In ceremony in front of a crowd of members and friends on New Year’s Day by smashing a ball 242 yards down the centre of the 1stfairway.
Russell is honoured to take on the role of Seniors Captain for 2012 and enjoys the friendship and camaraderie that goes with seniors’ golf. He is a keen supporter of the inter-club matches and plays in most of the 30 or so matches each year. There is a full programme of matches, competitions and Opens for 2012 and Russell urges all men of 55 and over to sign up and take part. “What better value is there in golf than enjoying playing some of the best courses in the region followed by a good meal for just £10-12” he says?
Not content with taking on the role of Seniors Captain, Russell has also taken over as Chairman of House and Bar this year.
