A true test of golf - all year round

Image of 18 Hole Course

18 Hole Course

We are very proud of our heathland course situated on fast draining soil, providing superb playing surfaces all year round, in particular it is renowned for the quality of its greens - fast and true all year round.

Measuring 6277 yards, par 70 for men & 5500 yards, par 71 for women, the course retains many of its original features as laid out by James Braid.. The fairways are protected by broom, gorse, heather and trees.

There is much wildlife to be spotted on the course in particular the many skylarks, kestrels and occasional pair of red kites circling overhead.  Of great archaeological interest are the five Tumuli or burial mounds dating from the Bronze Age, three of which can be easily spotted with one being directly underneath the large oak tree featured in this photo.  Surrounded by the beautiful South Shropshire hills and with the beautiful medieval town of Ludlow, its Castle and famous St Lawrence's Church as a backdrop there is something to catch the eye on every hole.
